Raiders Lose 17-15 in Close Defensive Battle

The Raiders showed improvement last Sunday in Miami except on their offense. For the past 2 weeks, the Raiders defense has played very well and gave their team a chance to win but the offense did nothing. I think Tom Cable needs to start Darren McFadden and give JaMarcus Russell some kind of weapon to hit downfield. The only touchdown the Raiders could score was Johnnie Lee Higgins 91-yard touchdown punt return. Seabass had a chance to win the game for the Raiders in the third quarter but he missed a long field goal. If Seabass had made the field goal, the Raiders would have won 18-17. The Dolphins now comtinue to look like a playoff team advancing to 6-4 after this win. Big improvement after last years 1-15 season. The Raiders have the same record as last season, 2-8. I'm sure you can expect a major makeover from Al Davis this off-season. I have been impressed with young CB Chris Johnson and DB Hiram Eugene. The Raiders no doubt need a new D-Line and O-Line and a standout WR. If I had a say in the matter, the Raiders would have a new owner.

Javon Walker out for Season

Raiders Javon Walker hurt his ankle last week in Oakland's 17-6 loss against Carolina. Walker told reporters Thursday that he needs surgery on his ankle and will miss the rest of the season. Walker was not the explosive receiver Davis thought he would be this year. Walker caught only 15 balls for 196 yards and only one touchdown. Ashley Lelie is said to be relacing Javon Walker at number one WR. Lelie will line up across rookie Chaz Schlines.

Hello from Florida!

Well, I made the trip to Florida today and I will see the Raiders Dolphins game with my buddy who happens to be a Dolphins fan. I don't think the Raders will come away with a win this week. Oakland is getting worse and worse each week. This will be my first game at Dolphin Stadium and my birthday is this week. All I want is a Raider win!

Go Raiders!!!

Walter and Tui can't give Oakland any offense in 17-6 loss

It was not a pretty Sunday in Oakland for QB's Andrew Walter and Jake Delhomme. Delhomme completed only 7 of 27 passes for 72 yards and one touchdown. Delhomme also threw 4 INTS. LB Sam Williams and CB Nnamdi Asomugha each had one INT. DB Rashad Baker had 2 INTS. DT's Gerrard Warren each had a sack. DE Julius Peppers could not be stopped has he grabbed 3 sacks and ruined Andrew Walters day. The Panthers ran the ball well today against the Raider defense, no suprise. Delango Williams had 140 yards rushing including a 69 yard touchdown run. QB Andrew Walter completed only 14 passes of 32 attempts for 143 yards and 2 INTS. Seabass today became the Raiders all time leading scorer beating out the great QB/K George Blanda who played fotball well into his 40's. Seabass has been with the Raiders since 2000 along with Shane Lechler. It's pretty safe to say that Oakland has the best Kicker Punter combo in NFL history.

The Raiders travel to Miami next week, a game which I will attend. Miami is hot and has won 3 in a row and is making a serious push to take the division away from New England.

Flashback: 1983 LA Raiders

Jim Harbaugh: Raiders next Head Coach?

As the great Ronald Reagan would say, "There you go again." And there you go again Al Davis, looking for a new head coach to guide the Raiders very lost ship. Lane Kiffin came from the College ranks, USC, and we all know how that turned out. Harbaugh is 44 years old and has been a very successful college head coach. Harbaugh has posted a 37-17 record overall. He was 29-6 with the University of San Diego and has a 8-11 record as the current Head Coach at Stanford. The reason Al Davis will probably go after Harbaugh is because he was a Raiders assistant coach from 2002-2003. Harbaugh coached the Raiders QB's in 2003. Harbaugh also played QB in the NFL and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1987. Harbaugh ended his career playing with San Diego in 2000.

Panthers vs Raiders Preview

Well, I'll be the first to say it: I don't like the Raiders chances at all this weekend against Carolina. The Panthers are 6-2 and in first place in the NFC South. The Raiders hold the same record as last season, 2-6, and in 3rd place in the woeful AFC West. The Raiders have released CB Delango Hall this week with the Raiders secondary being one of the NFL's worst. CB Chris Johnson will get the nod at starting CB next to pro-bowler Nnamdi. Sources say that Al Davis is set to release Tommy Kelly and Javon Walker next week. LT Kwame Harris will split time with young Mario Henderson. And QB Jamarcus Russell is listed as doubtful and probably will not play. Andrew Walter should get the start.

Last Game: 2004, @ Carolina, Raiders won, 27-24
My Prediction: Panthers roll 27-7

Raiders in a major makeover

Well, I gotta say, I think the old man has lost control of his ship. The Raiders have released CB Delango Hall this week and will be replaced by young CB Chris Johnson. There are now roumers saying that DT Tommy Kelly and WR Javon Walker could be next. I think Al Davis has finally realized he has payed way too much for these players who have not performed up to expectations. I will be the first to say Al Davis is a great person and I love all he has done for this organization but I think what he has done in the 70's and the 80's does not work in today's game of football. Mark Davis is the most likely choice to be the Raiders next owner, he of course is the son of Al Davis. On the Raiders injury report update, Jamarcus Russell is doubtful for Sundays game against Carolina and Andrew Walter could get the start. There also has been roumers that Al Davis is going to bring in Michael Vick. If Al does that, I will lose all respect for this team and Al and never root for them again. I hate Vick and what he did and I think he should never get a chance at football again.

On a lighter note, congratulations to newly elected President Barack Obama. I was a John McCain supporter but I will do my best to support our newly elected President to lead this country through these tough times.

Turning into a Leader?

Yes, were 2-5 and in 3rd place, but only two games out of first. And yes we have the same record as last season. But we did fire our coach 4 games in. But there has been on bright spot this season in Oakland. And it is the development of QB Jamarcus Russell. Russell has proved many people, including my family, wrong playing very well this season. Russell has thrown for 1258 yards and 6 touchdowns with only 3 INTS. Not bad for a rookie starting QB. The next completion by Jamarcus Russell will be his 100th on the season. Russell has been making big plays this first half of the season. Hitting Johnnie Lee Higgins on a 84 yard touchdown in Buffalo and Zach Miller on a 64 yard touchdown against San Diego. I can't wait to see what Jamarcus Russell will do the rest of this season.

Go Raiders!!!
